GROUP YOGA CLASSES IN ORANGE COUNTY, CA

Elissa’s classes are a unique blend of traditional asana, contemporary postures, Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Ball Techniques, and conscious corrective exercises.  Emphasis is placed on proper breath mechanics, alignment, structural integrity and moving with grace and ease.  Sequencing targets a specific area of the body, revolves around a central theme or deconstructs a pose to it’s individual components to reconstruct it with greater awareness and proficiency.  All classes are appropriate for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

YOGA IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to be curious about who you are. Or take a bit of time out to nurture your body and spirit. Or explore and be curious about yourself. The physical limb of  yoga can take you on a journey into the self – the wonderful thing about yoga is that it is what you need it to be, when you need it.

SLOW FLOW YOGA
The slow meditative pace of this vinyasa style practice focuses on slow steady breaths and movement to build strength and stamina with smooth safe transitions. Slowing down allows time to take a reflective pause to explore connections between poses while listening to your own internal rhythm and cultivate a mindful approach to practice. This pace allows the poses to be refined and strengthened without feeling rushed into the next move, breath or pose. Slow Flow is accessible for all levels of practitioners and includes book-end reflection with simple meditation.


YOGA FOR HEALING
A combination of meditative movement, Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Ball rolling techniques, restorative yoga and conscious breathing strategies. Designed to help relieve tension, soothe tight muscles, down-regulate the nervous system and nurture mind, body and spirit.


YOGA TUNE UP® ROLL AND RESTORE
Therapeutic, restorative and rejuvenating, this class is a blend of guided self-massage techniques using the Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls, restorative postures, gentle dynamic movement and conscious breathing strategies. Roll out of this class feeling amazing!


VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa yoga aligns breath with movement. Yoga postures flow and transition with strong inhales and exhales. Sequencing varies from class to class, compelling you to be fully absorbed and focus in the moment. Vinyasa generates heat through fluid movement and the Ujjayi breathing technique. This dynamic class will you will leave you feeling strong and amazing!

WHEN WE DO OUR PRACTICE

Have you noticed that the sunset is more vivid when we do our practice? And that there are fewer “jerks” on the freeway? The hardwood floor is the most comfortable bed in the world when we do our practice. Our mate is more patient and kind when we do our practice. Even the government seems more organized – when we do our practice. We want less and give more, we notice beautiful hearts, and are more forgiving of the mean-spirited. When we do our practice it is as if we live in a different world with our hearts open wide. But of course it is not the world that has changed; it is we who have changed, and that is one of the great secrets of yoga. We change but it appears as if the world around us blooms like a flower.
As was said in a gnostic scripture, “the kingdom of heaven is spread upon the earth but men do not see it.” When we do our practice we begin to see heaven on earth.
